The Role

Are you interested in working for The 143 Edit online publication? 

 

Website Editors will manage the publishing side of our magazine, ensuring that articles, interviews, comments, and reviews are uploaded in a professional and well-organised way. They will liaise with Feature Writers, provide editorial feedback, and oversee the site’s structure and presentation. Editors will also be responsible for ensuring that supporting images, bios, and preview texts are uploaded consistently.

Responsibilities

Working as an editor for the 143 Edit will give you the opportunity to:

​

  • Review and edit submissions for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the style guide.

  • Communicate regularly with writers to track deadlines.

  • Source or check copyright status of images provided.

  • Develop site improvements (navigation, categories, visual layout).

  • Ensure accessibility and readability of content for a broad audience.

Skills

Develop your skills in:

​

  • Editorial judgment and copy-editing.

  • Content management and digital publishing skills.

  • Team communication and production pipeline management.

  • Web design/user experience thinking.

  • Applying professional style guides and maintaining consistency across a publication.
